Baseball Recap: Lathrop Takes a Loss

Lathrop fell victim to Ripon Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 12-0 to the Ripon Christian Knights. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lathrop saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Hammond, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Hammond hit this season.

Lathrop's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Ripon Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lathrop will host Edison at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ripon Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grace Davis at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Ripon Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
