Volleyball Recap: St. Edmund Comes Up Short + How To Watch

St. Edmund managed to slip by Lafayette the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Fighting Blue Jays came up short against the Lions on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Fighting Blue Jays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

St. Edmund was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-12, 25-23.

Lafayette can attribute much of their success to Brae'Ona Smith, who had 18 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Smith has posted over her last five games.

St. Edmund's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Lafayette, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Coming up, St. Edmund will be playing at home against Episcopal of Acadiana at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lafayette, they will challenge St. Martinville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
