Basketball Preview: Wayne Warriors vs. Centerville Elks
Wayne is 1-9 against Centerville since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Warriors will head out to take on the Elks at 6:00 p.m. Wayne will be strutting in after a victory while Centerville will be coming in after a defeat.
On Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wayne beat Beavercreek 48-44. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wayne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nariya Goddard, who posted 11 points in addition to seven steals and six assists. They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Wayne was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They are 3-1 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, Centerville played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Fairmont and fell 64-30. The Elks haven't had much luck with the Firebirds recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Wayne now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Centerville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
