Baseball Recap: Star-Spencer Comes Up Short

Star-Spencer extended their losing streak to 13 on Monday, dropping them down to 1-28. They lost 16-0 to the Casady Cyclones. If the Bobcats were looking for revenge after losing 12-0 to the Cyclones when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Casady, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11. Considering they have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Casady's part, Clayton Shepherd was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Shepherd has become a key player for the Cyclones: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nate Simms, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

While Star-Spencer had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
