Basketball Game Preview: Caldera vs. Madras White Buffaloes

Caldera will be taking part in a tournament against the Madras White Buffaloes at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Madras is hoping to do what North Eugene couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Caldera's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Caldera took their contest with ease, bagging a 64-33 win over North Eugene. While Caldera didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Madras humbled Elma with a 57-25 victory. Given the White Buffaloes' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 76th in Oregon, while the Eagles are ranked 244th in Washington), the result last Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Caldera's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 43 points. As for Madras, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Caldera against Madras in their previous meeting on December 4th, as the squad secured an 82-55 victory. Does Caldera have another victory up their sleeve, or will Madras turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
