Basketball Game Preview: Springville Red Devils vs. Orem Tigers

The Springville Red Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Orem Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Springville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matchups -- so hopefully Orem likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, everything went Springville's way against Cedar Valley as Springville made off with a 68-48 victory. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Aviators recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Orem entered their tilt with Salem Hills on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Skyhawks 87-35. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-21.

Orem pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.9 points over those games. As for Springville, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.

Springville came out on top in a nail-biter against Orem in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 55-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Springville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
