Softball Recap: 12 Straight Home Victories for Box Elder

Box Elder faced Bountiful in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Bees came out on top against the RedHawks by a score of 4-1. This was a revenge game for the Bees: when they faced off against the RedHawks back in March, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Kennadie Blackmer made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kailee Hall, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Box Elder pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Bountiful, their loss ended a 14-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-2.
