Basketball Recap: University Piles Up the Points Against Muncie Burris

There's no place like home for University, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-18 victory over the Muncie Burris Owls. Given the Trailblazers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Owls are ranked 359th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

University's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenzie Feeney, who posted six points along with ten boards and seven assists. That's the most assists Feeney has posted since back in January. Taylor Seay was another key player, going 6 for 13 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

University smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

University has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Muncie Burris, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coincidentally, University and Muncie Burris will both be playing Liberty Christian the next time they take the court. University will host Liberty Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Muncie Burris will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
