Basketball Recap: Worth County Tigers vs. Mound City/Craig
The Worth County Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mound City/Craig. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Worth County in their matchups with the : they've now lost four in a row.
Worth County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylee Ruckman, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Kristen Tracy was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Worth County dropped their record down to 1-18 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mound City/Craig, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Worth County will be playing at home against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mound City/Craig, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Blue Jays at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Rock Port has insisted on making their lastsix contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-3 during that stretch of close contests.
