Basketball Recap: West Carter Takes a Loss

West Carter won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 73-42 loss at the hands of the Russell Red Devils. The Comets haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Russell found their leader in sophomore Caleb Rimmer, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Cordial, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

West Carter now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Russell, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

West Carter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-29 defeat against Rowan County on the 10th. As for Russell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-50 loss against Lewis County on the 10th.
