Baseball Game Preview: Mundelein Mustangs vs. Lake Zurich Bears

For the second straight game, Mundelein will face off against Lake Zurich. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Bears at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Mundelein will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Mundelein came out on top against Lake Zurich on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 9-3 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Baris Brua tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caden Earing, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Johnny Weiss, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Lake Zurich and nudges their season record down to 13-9. As for Mundelein, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5-2.
