Pembroke hadn't done well against Oakfield-Alabama recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Dragons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hornets, sneaking past 3-1. For the Dragons, this counts as revenge for the 9-0 win the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Pembroke let Trey Newton and Jayden Bridge run wild. Newton went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Bridge went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Pembroke was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakfield-Alabama only posted a batting average of .167.

Pembroke's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Oakfield-Alabama, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pembroke will head out to take on Keshequa at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oakfield-Alabama, they will venture away from home to challenge Notre Dame at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
