Basketball Recap: Smyrna Takes a Loss

Smyrna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Salesianum Sallies. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 78-54 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Smyrna's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Salesianum, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9.

Smyrna has already played their next match (against Cape Henlopen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Salesianum will venture away from home to take on Sanford at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sanford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Salesianum likes a good challenge.
