Basketball Recap: Juanita Takes a Loss

Juanita was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 79-75 to the Bothell Cougars, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Ravens of the 49-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2020.

Bothell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Raider Finau led the charge by dropping a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Finau has become a key player for Bothell: the team is 8-4 when he posts at least eight boards, but 2-9 otherwise. Jaylen McLaughlin was another key player, putting up 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Juanita's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Bothell, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-13.

As of now, neither Juanita nor Bothell have any future games scheduled.
