Baseball Recap: Madera South Falls to Edison in First Game of Season

Madera South unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 12-4 to the Edison Tigers on Wednesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Emiliano Guerrero was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Guerrero was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Guerrero wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Knox Flores, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Madera South has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Firebaugh on the 28th. As for Edison, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 4-2 win against Sunnyside on the 28th.
