Bemidji took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders, sneaking past 3-2. This was payback for the Lumberjacks, who suffered a 9-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Gunner Ganske was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Dokken, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Having lost for the first time this season, St. Cloud Cathedral fell to 2-1.
Looking ahead, Bemidji is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Sauk Rapids-Rice at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Cloud Cathedral, they will square off against Warroad at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
