Basketball Game Preview: Plymouth Big Red vs. Monroeville Eagles

Plymouth is 1-9 against Monroeville since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Plymouth Big Red will head out on the road to face off against the Monroeville Eagles at 1:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Plymouth is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 51-20 loss at the hands of Mansfield Christian.

Monroeville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-59 heartbreaker at the hands of Seneca East. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while the Tigers are ranked 204th).

Monroeville's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Plymouth, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Plymouth lost to Monroeville on the road by a decisive 54-35 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Plymouth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
