Kylie Torrence leads High Point Christian Academy to victory over Wesleyan Christian Academy

Recap: High Point Christian Academy Cougars vs. Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans

The High Point Christian Academy Cougars won against the Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans last Tuesday with 60 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. High Point Christian Academy snuck past the Trojans with a 60-54 victory. The victory was familiar territory for High Point Christian Academy who now have three in a row.

Kylie Torrence was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Walker, who scored 16 points.

Wesleyan Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Taylor Hawley and Kennedy Jackson. Hawley scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, while Jackson scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Sara Kate Carr, who scored nine points along with two steals and two blocks.

Wesleyan Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as High Point Christian Academy pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.

High Point Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. High Point Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Bengals at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Greensboro Day School is ranked 20th, while the Cougars are ranked 14th). As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
