Baseball Game Preview: Norco Cougars vs. Roosevelt Mustangs

For the second straight game, Norco will face off against Roosevelt. The Cougars will square off against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Norco has four straight wins, Roosevelt has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Norco beat Roosevelt 4-1.

Landon Hovermale spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dylan Seward, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 11 games. Kevin Leon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Norco pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.
