Basketball Recap: Georgia-Cumberland Academy Comes Up Short

If Georgia-Cumberland Academy was riding high fresh off their 76-45 takedown of Georgia Force Christian on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jaguars were beaten by the New Faith Christian Academy Titans 100-73 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Jaguars have suffered since January 30th.

Georgia-Cumberland Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Talon Robinson, who posted 18 points along with five boards and three blocks. Robinson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Carter, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds.

Georgia-Cumberland Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for New Faith Christian Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgia-Cumberland Academy will head out to challenge Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for New Faith Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Norcross at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
