League recap: Williams throws longest pass in league this season for Fernley

Skylar Williams and Zak Pettit provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Wooster. The connection was good for 94 yards, the longest such play in IA Northern this season.

South Tahoe was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to sixth in the league. The Vikings vanquished Dayton 37-36 earlier in the week.

Pettit was the best wideout in the league this week as Truckee defeated Spring Creek. Pettit racked up five receptions for 156 yards. Tyler Curtis helped Truckee's passing attack out by catching two balls for 17 yards.

Morgan Dirickson put up the best numbers through the air as Churchill County beat Sparks. He finished with a total of nine completions for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Dirickson's favorite target this week was Dylan Tedford, who caught four passes for 148 yards.

Graham Christian was the most productive running back in IA Northern this week. He ran for 100 yards on 10 carries as the Wolverines bested the Spartans. Tyler Griffin also contributed to the rushing game with 50 yards on the ground.

Churchill County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Greenwave feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Dirickson has thrown for 988 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Tedford has 19 catches for 384 yards. Tyson Ernst leads the league in rushing with 689 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Truckee takes on Fernley. The Wolverines are currently in first, while the Vaqueros are in fourth.

Truckee extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Spring Creek, 34-3. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
