Baseball Recap: Pearl City Finds Home Field Redemption Against Leilehua

There's no place like home for Pearl City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They never let the Leilehua Mighty Mules get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Wednesday. The Chargers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mighty Mules, too.

Pearl City let Noah Bernal and Jayson Au Hoy run wild. Bernal scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Au Hoy scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Bernal a new career-high in doubles (two). Logan Honma was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win got Pearl City back to even at 3-3-2. As for Leilehua, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

When Pearl City and Leilehua next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Pearl City will try to stop Mililani's three-game winning streak when they meet at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pearl City's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Leilehua's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Leilehua will take on Campbell and their three-game winning streak at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
