Football Preview: Hamilton Braves vs. Portola Tigers        
        
		
             The Hamilton Braves will head out on the road to  take on  the Portola Tigers  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hamilton has four straight  victories, Portola has five straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
 Hamilton's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave  on Friday, when they got past Quincy's usually-dominant defense. Everything went Hamilton's way against Quincy as Hamilton made off with  a  36-14 win.
  Kayden Strong was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 169 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
 Hamilton's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as  Strong,  Cesar Leal,  and  Barrett Boehm picked up one apiece. The dominant performance gave  Strong a new career-high in  rushing yards.
 Meanwhile, Portola scored the most  points they've had all season  on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Los Molinos by a score of  35-32.
 Hamilton's victory was  their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 4-1. As for Portola, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
 Hamilton didn't have too much breathing room in their  game against Portola  when the teams last played  back in September of 2021, but they still walked away with  a  20-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hamilton since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
