Baseball Game Preview: Del Oro Golden Eagles vs. Bella Vista Broncos

The Del Oro Golden Eagles will take on the Bella Vista Broncos at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Del Oro is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Folsom just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. Golden Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Tuesday.

Kael Lumbert put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Bella Vista didn't have quite enough to beat Vista del Lago on Friday and fell 3-2.

Alec Murray was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, Bella Vista saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Thorn, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Thorn's first of the season.

Del Oro's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Bella Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-16.
