Basketball Recap: Harlem Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Harlem won the last time they faced Jefferson and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Harlem Huskies came out on top against the Jefferson J-Hawks by a score of 48-36.

Jefferson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbie Bracius, who posted 19 points. That was a full 52.8% of Jefferson's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Alanna Morehead, who scored 15 points.

Harlem's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12. As for Jefferson, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Harlem and Jefferson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Harlem will take on Boylan Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 186 places (365 vs. 179). Harlem is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. Similarly, Jefferson (ranked 515th) will meet Hononegah (ranked 140th) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
