Baseball Recap: Hilliard Davidson Find Success

Hilliard Davidson came out on top against Dublin Coffman on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Wildcats walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Shamrocks. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Shamrocks: they've now won three in a row.

Andrew Sherman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Will Ragland was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Mitchell Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Hilliard Davidson's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Dublin Coffman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
