Softball Recap: Therrell Wins Going Away Against KIPP Atlanta Collegiate

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Osborne, Therrell was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Warriors with a sharp 15-3 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

SARAI MONROE and JAHMELIA POWELL did most of the damage at the plate: MONROE went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while POWELL went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. MONROE is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. DeAndra BYRD was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Therrell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .341 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Therrell's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Therrell will host Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, they will welcome Creekside at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Seminoles have averaged an impressive 11.6 runs per game this season.
