Baseball Recap: Phoebus Comes Up Short

Phoebus fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Bethel on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Phantoms in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost nine in a row.

Phoebus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Barnes, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Maddison Tatum-Harper also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Phoebus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Bethel, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

While Phoebus had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
