Softball Preview: West Bladen Knights vs. Midway Raiders

West Bladen has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Midway Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

West Bladen scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 19-8 margin over Clinton. The win was just what West Bladen needed coming off of a 15-0 defeat in their prior game.

Gracie Faircloth made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (she also didn't allow any walks). Faircloth was also big at the plate, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5.

Tamia Gwynn was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Williams, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a triple.

West Bladen's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Midway, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

However, it's not like Midway struggles in that department as they've averaged .366. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
