Granby is 9-1 against Manor since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Comets will face off against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Granby is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Great Bridge just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 10-3.
Kyrsten Wells spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Anwynn Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Manor came up short against Oscar Smith on Wednesday and fell 13-10. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
KARLAH GARCIA made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She also got a hit, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kara Ellis, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Manor now has a losing record of 2-3-1. As for Granby, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-2.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Granby has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Manor struggles in that department as they've averaged .507. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
