Basketball Recap: Mercy Jaguars vs. Lawrence Central Bears
If Mercy was riding high fresh off their 62-32 takedown of Mercer County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mercy Jaguars took a blow against the Lawrence Central Bears on Saturday, falling 81-43.
It was another big night for Jaylah Lampley, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds for Lawrence Central. Lampley's evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Laila Abdurraqib was another key player, almost dropping a triple-double on 13 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists.
Mercy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lawrence Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
