The Leonard Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Forest Hill Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Leonard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.5 runs per game this season.

Leonard came up short against Somerset Academy - Canyons on Monday, falling 19-8.

Arianna Sheerer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Dayanara Gonzalez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Forest Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-12 heartbreaker at the hands of Royal Palm Beach. Falcons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Wildcats since on Monday.

Alyssa Navarro and Kaia Welton stepped up to the plate in a big way. Navarro scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Welton scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Navarro also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Lillian Siciliano was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Leonard's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Forest Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.

Forest Hill's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Leonard hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. It's a different story for Forest Hill, though, as they've only averaged .164. Will they be able to contain Leonard's hitters?

Leonard took their victory against Forest Hill in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 20-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
