Football Recap: Shoemaker Skates Past Varsity Opponent with Ease

Shoemaker barely beat Varsity Opponent the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves breezed past Varsity Opponent to the tune of 43-14 on Friday. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Varsity Opponent, too.

De'Mani Dail-Addison had an outrageously good game as he threw for 281 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Another player making a difference was Brandon Brown Jr, who gained 123 total yards and a touchdown.

Shoemaker didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. William Thomas V and Brenden Logan were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece. Shoemaker got some further help from Avion Lucas: he made 17 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Shoemaker has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Shoemaker will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Ellison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 993 yards in their previous games. As for Varsity Opponent, they have already played their next matchup, a 36-0 defeat against Calumet Christian on the 6th.
