After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Swain County, Highlands was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Cherokee Braves with a sharp 4-1 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Highlands as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

They hit Cherokee with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Leticia Campos (2), Aislynn Wyatt-Luck, and Gabriela Diaz Martinez.

Highlands' victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Cherokee, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highlands will challenge Hayesville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cherokee, they will face off against Swain County at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Swain County will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Cherokee surely won't give up without a fight.
