Basketball Recap: Regis Victorious

Regis posted their closest victory since February 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They skirted past the Salesian Eagles 64-62. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Salesian lost, don't look at Julien Wiggins. Despite the final result, he went 16 of 34 en route to 37 points and seven steals. That was a full 59.7% of Salesian's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kevaughn Mitchell, who earned five points.

Regis is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Salesian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Regis will head out to take on Xavier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Salesian, they will venture away from home to face off against St. John's Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
