Basketball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 45-30 fall against the Joplin Eagles. The Bulldogs were probably out for revenge after losing 43-35 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Joplin, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-6 record.

Central and Joplin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Central will challenge Willard at 6:00 p.m. on Monday down 280 places (437 vs. 157). Similarly, Joplin (ranked 254th) will meet Nixa (ranked fourth) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
