Volleyball Recap: McCutcheon Comes Up Short

McCutcheon entered their contest against Brownsburg on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mavericks came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0. If the Mavericks were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

McCutcheon was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Brownsburg work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-17, 26-24.

McCutcheon's offense was headlined by Audrey Turpin and Audrey Crowe, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Rebecca Gaeta and her 18 assists. Brianna Allen controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Kate Vrabel went supernova For Brownsburg., getting 20 digs and five assists. That's the most assists Vrabel has posted over her last six matchups.

McCutcheon now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Brownsburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

McCutcheon will be taking part in a tournament against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brownsburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Westfield on the 24th.
