Basketball Recap: Kaufman Takes a Loss

After flying high against Terrell last Tuesday, Kaufman came back down to earth. The Kaufman Lions were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 58-57 to the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 835th, while the Jaguars are ranked 345th).

Kaufman's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Midlothian Heritage, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kaufman will challenge Ennis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Midlothian Heritage, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars face off against the Midlothian Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Midlothian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season.
