Football Recap: First Presbyterian Day Falls Short of Brookstone in the Playoffs + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact First Presbyterian Day can now relate to. They fell 13-0 to the Brookstone Cougars on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, the Vikings' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Cash Walker threw for 51 yards while completing 71.4% of his passes. Tinsley Lewis was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards. On the ground, Brady McHugh rushed for 74 yards.

Brookstone's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Broughton Branch led the charge by throwing for 111 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. What's more, Branch racked up 133.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August. Sammie Laboy was Branch's top target, picking up 34 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 43 yards.

First Presbyterian Day's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Brookstone, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

First Presbyterian Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brookstone, they will take on Stratford Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups.
