Softball Recap: Hillsboro's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hillsboro entered their tilt with Jackson on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Ironman/Ironladies with a sharp 15-6 victory. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by nine runs or more this season.

Camryn Spruell was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Isabelle Brunck was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Myleah Fridley was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Hillsboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jackson only posted an OBP of .333.

Hillsboro's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Jackson, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.

Coming up, Hillsboro will face off against Logan Elm at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jackson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
