A win for Sussex County Tech just wasn't in the cards on Saturday as the team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They lost 47-22 to the High Point Wildcats. Sussex County Tech's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Sussex County Tech had strong showings from Brian Gruber, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and Gavin Mericle, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Gruber also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making eight total tackles.

The dominant performance gave Elko a new career-high in rushing yards.

Sussex County Tech now has a losing record at 3-4. As for High Point, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Sussex County Tech didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 32-7 defeat against Pequannock on the 25th. High Point has also already played their next matchup, a 49-14 victory against Whippany Park on the 25th.
