Dimond faced Chugiak in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Lynx walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mustangs. The Lynx haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Dimond had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-22.

Ailafo Fautanu paced Dimond's offense, picking up 18 kills. Fautanu got some help from Puao Asailevai and her 29 assists. Fautanu was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Dimond's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Chugiak, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Dimond will welcome South Anchorage at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chugiak, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Anchorage at 8:00 p.m. on the 30th.
