Softball Recap: Plainview Takes a Loss

Plainview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 17-3 to the Monterey Plainsmen. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 14-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Plainview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yaneli Jaramillo, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Jaramillo has posted since back in April of 2024. Alani Trevino was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Plainview's record is now 2-7. As for Monterey, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Coming up, Plainview will take on Ingram Moore in a tournament on Friday. As for Monterey, they will head out to challenge Timber Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
