Baseball Recap: Weston Ranch Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Weston Ranch duked it out with Tokay on Saturday. Weston Ranch fell 9-4 to Tokay. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March of 2019.

Jordan Paris was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Paris wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was JoseLuis Suarez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Weston Ranch's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-5. As for Tokay, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-9.

Coming up, Weston Ranch will square off against Bear Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tokay, they will take on Central Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Central Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Tokay's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
