Basketball Game Preview: Newton Eagles vs. Woodville Eagles

Newton is 2-8 against Woodville since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Newton Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Woodville Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Newton is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They received a blow as they fell 57-38 to Diboll. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Woodville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 69-32 loss at the hands of Pineywoods Community Academy.

Woodville's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Newton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
