Basketball Game Preview: Highland Rams vs. Alta Hawks

Highland and Alta are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Highland Rams will be playing at home against the Alta Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Highland is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Brighton on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Highland took a blow against Brighton, falling 66-17. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Katinia Olevao and Kennedy Gurgel, who each put up five points. Gurgel also led the team in rebounds with six.

Meanwhile, Alta unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a 74-36 loss at the hands of West. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Panthers are ranked second).

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Alta, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6.
