Basketball Recap: North Moore's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

North Moore had lost seven straight headed into Thursday's game, but Calissa Clendenin didn't let it get to eight. The North Moore Mustangs walked away with a 47-34 win over the South Davidson Wildcats on Thursday thanks in part to Clendenin, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8.8 rebounds per game.

Another player making a difference was Bailea Marley, who posted four points and seven rebounds. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in January.

South Davidson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Anna Smith, who put up 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayra Hulin, who earned 12 points.

North Moore's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for South Davidson, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

North Moore wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-24 loss against Jordan-Matthews on the 17th. As for South Davidson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-29 defeat against Lexington on the 13th.
