Basketball Recap: The Pingry School Comes Up Short

The Pingry School played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Westfield Blue Devils and fell 68-37. The Big Blue were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-23.

Despite the defeat, The Pingry School saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ryan Rust posted 13 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Neel Sappidi, who put up ten points and five rebounds.

The Pingry School dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Westfield, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-6.

The Pingry School will host Immaculata at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westfield, they will venture away from home to take on Summit at 1:00 p.m. on January 18th.
