Soccer Recap: El Monte Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for El Monte, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Gabrielino Eagles on Thursday as the El Monte Lions made off with a 3-0 victory. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Lions were the better team in the second half.

They hit Gabrielino with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Danny Cardona, Luis Garcia, and Jaime Sandoval.

The win got El Monte back to even at 3-3-1. As for Gabrielino, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Rosemead the next time they take the pitch. El Monte will host Rosemead at 3:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025, while Gabrielino will host them at 3:15 p.m. on January 13, 2025.
