Softball Recap: Moore Haven's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Moore Haven took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Frostproof, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Moore Haven Terriers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Frostproof Bulldogs 9-7. Winning may never get old, but the Terriers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Preslynn Baker was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Sergent was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. JoEllen Erskin was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one triple.

Moore Haven hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frostproof struck out 12 times.

Moore Haven's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. As for Frostproof, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coming up, Moore Haven will face off against Glades Day at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Moore Haven is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Frostproof, they will challenge George Jenkins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
